Biography
Snack Truck was birthed at the turn of the millenium by Matt and original drummer Nate. Practices were held at Nate’s family house, located on a Conservation Research compound. Amongst the captive wolves, monkeys, and emus, the two penned their first batch of songs which were quite loud, chaotic, and featured the unsettling addition of childrens’ records played at a slow, droning speed. After a few tours and recording sessions, Nate moved to Philadelphia to become a professional pupeteer, so Matt recruited Christian to fill in for an upcoming tour. Following the tour, Matt moved to Philadelphia and began writing songs with Frayser (the lion’s share of which appear on Spacial Findings). The two eventually returned to Richmond, where Christian rejoined the band. Withing a peculiar line-up of two drummers and a guitarist, they finished and recorded Spacial Findings.
Spacial Findings was tracked and mixed by Jason Laferra at his Rich- mond-based studio The Recorditorium. For Snack Truck, studio sessions are lengthy and enjoyable bouts of tinkering, where they often rework arrangements, experiment with alternate parts, and try out different instruments. Many of the songs take on new life in the workshop, where the band can take advantage of multi-tracking to create their lush, expansive passages.
Since recording Spacial Findings Christian has left the band and Nate has rejoined along with Brainworm's Bass Master Jay Moritz. The band has consistently been touring and recording new material that will be released at a later date.
